Giants sign Kenny Golladay: Fantasy football fallout for 2021

We take a look at the fantasy football impact as Kenny Golladay signs with the Giants ahead of the 2021 NFL Season.

How will Kenny Golladay mesh with Daniel jones?

The free agency wide receiver market hasn’t produced many big contracts, but Kenny Golladay was still able to negotiate a strong deal with the New York Giants. He’s set to make $72 million on a four-year deal with $40 million guaranteed. That’s a good chunk of change for a receiver that has had trouble staying on the field. But there is little doubt that he has potential to be a star and has shown enough to make a real investment in his future being bright.

Kenny Golladay signing: Fantasy football impact

Golladay will join Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, Evan Engram and Saquon Barkley to make a formidable offensive group. The questions going forward will likely be more about the offensive line and Daniel Jones. If both can stake a step forward this offseason, there is a good chance the Giants offense will be one of the better units in the league.

Of course, seeing a big jump from Jones isn’t assured. The good news is that Golladay is one of the best receivers on contested passes and should help Jones no matter what. In both 2019 and 2020, Golladay averaged 67.5 receptions for 1,126.5 yards and eight touchdowns. He should immediately slot in as the Giants No. 1 receiver and get the most targets moving forward. His fantasy upside isn’t sky high, as we can’t completely trust Jones to help him reach his limits, but we can feel good about him being the man and getting his chances in what should be an improved offense in 2021.
