The Dallas Mavericks host the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. This is the second of a back-to-back set for the Clips and Mavs in Dallas. Los Angeles got the best of Dallas in the first game, 109-99. The Clippers did a fantastic job on Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, holding the two to a combined 18-of-37 from the floor while forcing 14 turnovers overall. The Clippers replaced Nic Batum with Marcus Morris in the starting lineup and that clearly had an impact on defense. Morris is expected to stick at PF tonight.
Clippers vs. Mavericks, 9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN
Pick ATS: Clippers -2
There really shouldn’t be much change between games here. The Clippers won by 10 the other night in Dallas. The line seems very low for L.A. Clippers C Serge Ibaka is questionable to play due to a back injury. He didn’t play in the first contest and things worked out fine. Ivica Zubac was fantastic, going 7-of-8 from the floor for 15 points and 11 rebounds in 35 minutes. The Mavs don’t really have an advantage at home, so with that in mind, you’d expect the line to be a few more points leaning toward L.A.
Player Prop: Marcus Morris O17.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts (-110)
There’s some real value in this line. Even if Ibaka returns to the lineup, Morris is a better offensive player and will remain in the starting 5. That means Morris should see around 30 minutes like he did last game against the Mavs, when he had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. That would have smashed this line. So as long as Morris chips in a few rebounds and assists, we’re golden. Morris’ point total is at 11.5 on DKSB and the line is slightly on the move. We know Morris is capable of scoring well above this line.
