The No. 2-seed Utah State Aggies will face off against the No. 1-seed San Diego State Aztecs at 6 p.m. ET CBSSN for the Mountain West championship. In the regular season, the Aggies swept the two-game season series from the Aztecs.

Utah State (20-7, 15-4 Mountain West) has won six-straight games, which has firmly put them on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. Utah State defeated another bubble team Colorado State 62-50 on Friday night in the semifinals. Center Neemias Queta was the star, producing a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. The Aggies played incredible perimeter defense on the Rams, holding them to 25.4% shooting from the field and 15.8% from three-point range.

The Aztecs (22-4, 14-3 Mountain West) have won 13-straight after defeating Nevada Wolfpack on Friday night in the semis. Matt Mitchell led the way for the Aztecs with 24 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3pt) and eight rebounds. Jordan Schakel had 15 points on an efficient 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 3-of-5 shooting from the distance, while grabbing nine rebounds.

Let’s take a look at the action from the Mountain West Conference Championship Game from the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas, Nevada.

No. 2 Utah State vs. No. 1 San Diego State, 6:00 p.m. ET, CBS

Point Spread: San Diego State -1.5
Point Total: 128.5

It is hard to beat a team three times with a conference title on the line. For the Aztecs, they are safely in the tournament but would love to get a conference crown and possibly move up on the seeding line. This season, SDST is 7-7 against the spread as the home team and 1-2 on a neutral site. They are also 1-4 against the spread in their last five games. Schakel could play a key role in the Aztecs winning as he’s shooting 47.6 percent from behind the arc.

Meanwhile, the Aggies might be in the tourney after knocking off another bubble team in Colorado State. But they can secure their spot with a win in the conference championship. Utah State is 13-7 against the spread in their last 20 games this season. But the Aggies are 4-8 against the spread in their last 12 games as the underdog. They’ve won the last two MWC tournaments, but Sam Merrill isn’t here anymore.

The pick: San Diego State -1.5
