The Los Angeles Chargers made a move on Friday that was long expected. The team has released guard Trai Turner, according to multiple reports. He was due $11.5 million in salary and bonus money and will clear that cap space entirely with the release.

The Chargers had been trying to trade Turner this offseason after he made nine appearances this past season. The team acquired Turner in a trade with the Carolina Panthers that sent out offensive tackle Russell Okung.
