Breaking down the CAA conference basketball tournament schedule

Taking a look at who, where and when for the CAA Conference Championship, which will be hosted at James Madison University.

The CAA Conference Championship stretches from March 6-9, with all games being played at the Atlantic Union Bank Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia on the campus of James Madison University. The tournament will have 10 teams, who will play single-elimination games with no reseeding.

The first two rounds of the tournament are available on, a service that runs about $30 for a one-month subscription. The semifinals and final are on CBS Sports Network.

The Northeastern Huskies (9-8, 8-2 CAA) are the favorite despite being the No. 2 seed thanks to their season split with No. 1 seeded James Madison Dukes (13-6, 8-2 CAA). Northeastern sits at 167 in KenPom to 173 for James Madison, and the Huskies are No. 142 in the NCAA’s NET compared to No. 131 for the Dukes. Both those games were played at the Atlantic Union Bank Center on the fourth weekend in January.

Game 1: No. 8 Elon 69-48 over No. 9 Towson
Game 2: No. 7 William & Mary 73-60 over No. 10 UNCW

Quarterfinals, March 7

Game 3: No. 4 Hofstra over No. 5 Delaware 83-75 over
Game 4: No. 8 Elon 72-71 over No. 1 James Madison
Game 5: No. 2 Northeastern 63-47 over No. 7 William & Mary
Game 6: No. 6 Drexel 80-75 over No. 3 Charleston

Semifinals, March 8

Game 7: No. 8 Elon 76-58 over No. 4 Hofstra, 6 p.m.
Game 8: No. 6 Drexel 74-67 over No. 2 Northeastern

Final, March 9

Game 9: No. 6 Drexel 63-53 over No. 8 Elon, 7 p.m., CBS Sports Network

The Drexel Dragons are the CAA Champions and have earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
