Jacksonville Jaguars 2021 free agency outlook

The Jacksonville Jaguars made one of the most interesting offseason moves bringing in Urban Meyer, and free agency should be a priority for Jacksonville this season with the most cap space of any NFL team. The Jaguars have 24 free agents they will need to make decisions on moving forward.

Lost revenue due to COVID-19 will impact every team, but with so many free agents the likely drop in the league wide salary cap number could make things difficult. The 2020 number was around $198 million, while the 2021 number could drop to $180.5 million according to Over The Cap, but is subject to change.

Franchise/Transition Tag possibilities

Jacksonville’s top free agents include left tackle Cam Robinson, cornerback D.J. Hayden as well as wide receivers Keelan Cole and Chris Conley. The Jaguars are likely to stay away from franchise tagging any of their pending free agents this offseason.

Jacksonville tried to franchise tag defensive end Yannick Ngakoue last offseason, which ended up in a mess that finished with him being traded to the Minnesota Vikings and took less money to do so.
