How to handle Le’Veon Bell injury heading into Super Bowl 2021

Le’Veon Bell is on the Chiefs final injury report for Super Bowl 55. We break down what it means for fantasy football and betting decisions.

In-game update: Bell is active, but did not see the field in the first half. He is firmly behind Darrel Williams on the depth chart.

Game status: Bell is ACTIVE for Super Bowl 55.

There was some question in the week leading up to Super Bowl 55 whether or not Kansas City Chiefs running back Le’Veon Bell would be ready to play in Sunday’s game. He was limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a knee injury, but he was a full participant in Friday’s practice, which is as good of a sign as you can get that he will be in uniform and ready to go against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Better still, is that he was not listed at all on the official injury report.

Fantasy/betting impact: Le’Veon Bell (knee)

Bell missed the AFC Championship game against the Bills with his knee injury. He experienced swelling in his knee ahead of that game, scuttling his availability.

He did play in the Divisional round matchup against the Browns. However, even with usual starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire out of action in that one, Bell was a distant second to Darrel Williams in that game, getting out-touched 17-2. And with CEH active for this one, it’s unlikely that Bell will see a large workload in the Super Bowl.
