It’s official. Peyton Manning has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the Class of 2021. It was never in doubt that Peyton would end up a Hall-of-Famer. He will also go down as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game of football.

Peyton Manning was selected by the Indianapolis Colts as the first overall pick in the 1998 Draft. He remained in the league for 18 seasons (sitting out for one due to a neck injury), bringing a Super Bowl title to Indianapolis and Denver. The bulk of his career was spent on the Colts, where he racked up a majority of his 71,940 passing yards (third-highest all time behind Drew Brees and Tom Brady) and 539 passing touchdowns (also third-highest). Though his best statistical season came in his second season wearing a Broncos uniform, throwing for 5,477 yards (only time over 5,000 in his career) and 55 touchdowns (only time over 50).

For postseason metrics, though he was overshadowed by the success of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, Manning is tied at third for wins (14) with the likes of Steve Young, John Elway, and Terry Bradshaw. He ranks fifth in postseason passing touchdowns with 40, falling short of Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Montana, and Brett Favre.

Before retiring, Peyton Manning led the Denver Broncos to a Super Bowl victory for the first time since the veteran QB entered the league as a rookie. While his season stats weren’t pretty in that final season, Manning did what he needed to do in order to ride off in the sunset as a Super Bowl champion in his final game. To add to his two rings, Manning earned seven first-team All-Pro spots and received twice that amount in Pro Bowl selections. Now, the TV commercial superstar can add Pro Football Hall-of-Famer to a long list of accolades.
