Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker only has two-player props available on DraftKings Sportsbook right now for Super Bowl 55. One of those props is his chance at Super Bowl MVP, which is set at +12500.
Here, we’ll take a look at Butker’s other prop bet for Super Bowl LV, which is whether or not he’ll kick fewer than 8.5 points in the game. Be sure to check out all of the prop bets available at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Harrison Butker, Under 8.5 kicking points (+115): YES
Super Bowls tend to produce less scoring than anticipated. The under has hit in three of the last five, with Super Bowl LIII producing just one touchdown. That dynamic materially affects a kicker like Harrison Butker, limiting his potential for scoring.
But the Chiefs also have proven to be one of the more aggressive teams when it comes to deciding whether to go for it on fourth down or settle for a field goal. Head coach Andy Reid understands the power of his offense and will have a hard time taking the ball out of Patrick Mahomes’ hands in such situations. That too could take away scoring opportunities from Butker.
Also consider the kickers’ struggles this postseason. The normally reliable Butker has missed two kicks already including a routine 26-yard field-goal attempt. Reid could use that as further motivation to keep the offense on the field on fourth downs rather then send the kicking unit.
