Few players in the NFL have been as exciting to watch this season as Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill. In any game, he’s capable of exploding for big numbers, like the 269 receiving yards and three touchdowns he had against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. Now, the Bucs aren’t likely to let that happen again in the Super Bowl, but there might not be much they can do to stop Hill. He’s one of those matchup-proof players. I like a lot of these prop bets for his Super Bowl performance, but here are two that I’m taking.
Tyreek Hill, MVP (+1200)
Sure, quarterbacks are always the most likely player to win the Super Bowl MVP award. Patrick Mahomes did it last year, and Tom Brady’s done it four times. But wide receivers have a decent track record of winning it too. Julian Edelman took home the prize with the Patriots back in their 2018 snoozer against the Rams. It’s a long shot for sure, but a player with Hill’s game-breaking ability could easily earn the trophy, especially if he puts up another 269-yard, three-touchdown type of effort.
Tyreek Hill, Player to have the most receiving yards (+200)
Not a huge risk here, considering Hill’s a player who can turn a simple dump off into a 70-yard highlight. He had the most receiving yards of any player on either team in each of the Chiefs’ two playoff games this season. Hill has seven games with at least 98 yards, and five with more than 100. This bet seems like easy money.
