Dustin Johnson drive takes out volunteer at Saudi International

You’ve got to keep your head on a swivel when the No. 1 golfer in the world is on the tee. Look alive, tournament volunteer!

The Saudi International this week brought plenty of top golfers from across the world to Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia. Promises of appearance fees took many from the PGA Tour to the desert for the European Tour event.

But there’s one tournament volunteer that likely wishes one of the long-driving stars stayed at home.

Check out World No. 1 Dustin Johnson’s drive on the 10th tee today, a Par 4, 372-yard layup for the world’s best players. And one where DJ could theoretically be putting if he really got all of it.

The tournament is taking place right near the Red Sea. I guess our unnamed volunteer should have... parted... the way for the ball to keep rolling.

“You can take away the pain, but you can’t take away the swelling,” from the man in the booth is one of the better lines you’ll hear from a commentary box.

At least he gets a one-of-a-kind souvenir from the tournament, and it likely comes with highly accurate golf ball dimples.
