Prop bet picks for Super Bowl LV: The fun stuff

Why bet all those statistically-based things like “point spreads” and “moneylines” when you can fire on what color beverage a winning coach wear after a Super Bowl victory?

The Big Game Novelty Props: Why the jersey number prop is a must-bet

There are hundreds and hundreds of props to sort through at DraftKings Sportsbook for Super Bowl LV. But why do that when you can just print some money here from your trusted source on all things goofy and related to The Big Game in 2021?

We take a crack at all the non-player-related props here, and believe it or not there is some value to be found as well.

Gatorade shower color: Orange +125

Why give three points or take the money line at -159 when you can have the Chiefs to win the game this way? Last year Big Red Andy Reid got covered in orange Gatorade, and you’d think the Chiefs would keep as much about the game the same as they did last year. We’ll go with orange to cover the winning coach, and hope the home team likes the sunshine color as well. The extra price makes this an easy one.

Total Players To Attempt A Pass - Including Overtime: Over 2.5 +165

The Chiefs had FOUR players that weren’t Patrick Mahomes throw a pass this season: Backup QB Chad Henne, Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins, and punter Tommy Townsend. The Bucs had only Blaine Gabbert in mop-up duty, and it’s not likely this game gets out of hand where he’d be used except for injury.

But we’ve heard rumors of the Bucs working on some unusual plays in practice this season. No time like the present to empty the playbook. Perhaps with a wide receiver on a deep crosser after a skill player rolls right with the football off a reverse?

A lead change to occur in Quarter 1: Yes +265

You’ll need at least two scores here, but we like this bet because teams might get bogged down in the red zone on an opening drive in what should be a shootout. The Bucs are an excellent red zone defense and can score themselves. The price here is too good to let it pass by.

Any ruling on the field overturned by a Coaches Challenge: Yes +115

The best bet because of all the extra cameras in the game! CBS has taken over Tampa’s best food hall, and they’re taking over Raymond James Stadium with new and exciting ways to watch a Super Bowl.

Although there is no complete 4k UHD broadcast available, getting the call right will be easier than ever with 120 cameras coming to the stadium, including 12 in 4kHD. And each head coach will also have someone in a booth ready to take advantage of this just by watching the game on TV and signaling down to challenge.

Coin toss winner: Buccaneers -106

Do you want to bet against Tom Brady in a Super Bowl ever? Well he’s the captain, and the NFC is 37-17 all-time winning the coin flip at the Super Bowl. Historical trends are undefeated, and you should absolutely bet all your money on this Sunday afternoon.

Sprinkle in a little “No” with the “Player to correctly call Opening Kick Off Coin Toss” as well, as the Chiefs are the visitors and will call the flip. They’ll also probably lose based on these DOCUMENTED historical statistics, and they lost the coin toss last year as well. This is a flawless strategy, and we won’t hear otherwise.
