How the public is betting Chiefs vs. Bucs in Super Bowl 55 midway through game week

We break down the betting splits for Chiefs vs. Bucs as of Tuesday in the week of Super Bowl 55.

Can Tom Brady shine once again in the big moment?

We’re only a few days away from Super Bowl 55! The Kansas City Chiefs have arrived in Tampa and they and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are back at practice. The teams held walkthroughs to start the week and will get back to full practice on Wednesday. We’ll get an updated injury report Wednesday afternoon, as we start to see more banged up players getting back on the practice field for the big game.

We have not seen much movement at all, with oddsmakers moving the spread a half point and the point total a point. The Eric Fisher injury coming out of the AFC title game was the big one, but the early line reflected that. Without any big changes, it’s unlikely we see any notable change to the betting odds.

So where are sports bettors going as we get closer to game time? Let’s take a look. All odds and info were provided by DraftKings Sportsbook as of Tuesday morning, February 2nd.

Point Spread

The current spread is sitting at Kansas City -3 priced at -117, while Tampa Bay is getting +3 with odds at -105. The majority of sports bettors (and their money) is being placed on the Chiefs. Kansas City is currently seeing 72% of the point spread bets with 79% of the handle. The opening odds started with Kansas City as 3.5-point favorites.

Over/Under

The point total is at 56.5 with the odds for the over sitting at -109 and odds for the under at -112. Sports bettors are looking for a high-scoring affair for these teams, who each ranked top-six in points scored for the 2020 NFL season. 74% of the bets are on the over including 74% of the handle. The point total opened at 57.5.

Moneyline

The Chiefs’ moneyline odds are set at -162 with the Buccaneers at +143 to win this one outright. Tampa Bay is getting 56% of the moneyline bets and 51% of the handle. To open, the Chiefs were at -175 with the Bucs at +140.
