How and what to watch for Santa Clara vs. No. 1 Gonzaga

The Bulldogs look to win their 23rd-straight game when they take on the Broncos Thursday night.

The Santa Clara Broncos will try to upset the No. 1 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs on Thursday 7 p.m. ET. on CBSSN. These two teams were scheduled to play on Feb. 6 and Feb. 11, but both games were postponed.

The Broncos (10-6, 4-4 WCC) snapped their two-game losing streak after defeating the Pepperdine Waves 86-82 on Saturday. A player to watch for the Broncos is senior forward Josip Vrankic, who leads the team with 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He has scored 20-plus points in three out of Santa Clara’s last four games.

The Bulldogs (22-0, 13-0 WCC) have won an incredible 22 straight wins, including a 106-69 win over the San Diego Toreros on Saturday. In their last five games, Gonzaga has defeated their opponents by 25.4 points. This season, the best team in the country is averaging 93.4 points per game, but allowing opponents to score 69.1 points per game.
