While the league is still in negotiation for how the season will take place, the WNBA is on track to begin playing again in 2021. And of course that means we have odds on who will be the next league champion, courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
The defending champion Seattle Storm are the chalk at +175. With Sue Bird looking as good as ever at age 40, and Breanna Stewart fully healthy and dominating in the post, and the addition of fellow UConn star Katie Lou Samuelson, the Emerald City looks like they have an excellent chance to repeat.
A’ja Wilson was the 2020 league MVP, and her Las Vegas Aces are right behind at +350. With veteran Angel McCoughtry and three-time All-Star Liz Cambage back again after sitting out 2020, the team from Sin City will make it tough in the Western Conference.
On the other coast, the 2019 champion Washington Mystics check in at +500. Elena Delle Donne is back with the team she led to the title the last time she played, and adds veterans Tina Charles and Leilani Mitchell with breakout star Myisha Hines-Allen for a formidable challenge in the weaker Eastern Conference.
Here are the opening odds to win the 2021 WNBA Championship at DraftKings Sportsbook:
- Seattle Storm +175
- Las Vegas Aces +350
- Los Angeles Sparks +500
- Washington Mystics +500
- Chicago Sky +1100
- Phoenix Mercury +1100
- Minnesota Lynx +2500
- Atlanta Dream +6000
- Dallas Wings +6000
- Indiana Fever +8000
- New York Liberty +8000
