The Los Angeles Lakers have hit a bit of a skid recently, losing three of their last four games including two in a row, though they’ve been hit with injuries. They will look to get back on track Monday night at home against the Washington Wizards, who have been playing well recently.
In the last two games, the Lakers were without starters Dennis Schroder and Anthony Davis. Neither will return to the lineup on Monday night, so Los Angeles will need to figure out how to win without them. Washington won each of their last four games including a 118-111 road win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.
The Lakers come in with a 22-9 record for the second spot in the Western Conference, while Washington is 10-17, the fourth worst record in the league.

Washington’s record looks pretty bad - because it is - but let’s not dismiss the Wizards’ four-game winning streak. As the Lakers try to figure out how to make things work without two starters, seven points is too many especially as this two-game losing streak has come at home. The Wizards have covered in four of their last five games, while Los Angeles is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight.

Washington’s four-game winning streak has been fun, but it’s not because of the Wizards’ defense. The team is currently second-to-last in points allowed per game, so this should be a fairly high scoring game. Without Schroder and Davis, LeBron James will have the ball in his hands a ton, leading to a high number of assists, hitting the over.
