In the lone national television game on Saturday night, the Miami Heat will wrap-up their west coast road in a rematch from last season’s NBA Finals when they play the Los Angeles Lakers at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Heat are coming into the primetime contest off of a 118-110 win over the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night. With that win, Miami snapped their three-game losing streak and won their first-game on the west coast road trip. Meanwhile, the Lakers are coming off of a 109-98 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. Los Angeles has won three out of their last five games and are 8-2 in the last 10 games.
Can the Heat defeat the defending champs under the primetime lights? We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
Heat vs. Lakers, 8:30 p.m. ET, ABC
Pick ATS: Heat +4
The line for Saturday night’s game is currently set at four points, with the Lakers favored at home. Los Angeles enters tonight’s contest with Markieff Morris listed as probable with an ankle sprain, while Dennis Schroder is still out because of health and safety protocols. The Heat, however, will still be without Avery Bradley and Goran Dragic.
Neither team has not been necessarily great against the spread recently as the Lakers are 2-5 in their last seven games. But when the Lakers are at the Staples Center, they play better with a record of 9-7 against the spread.
In regards to the Heat, they have a record of 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 games and have a record of 6-9 against the spread away from South Beach. The last few times the Lakers have been 3 or 3.5-point favorites, they have failed to cover each time. If the Heat can get a solid game from Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, along with Tyler Herro, then they should be able to keep this potentially defensive struggle close.
Player Prop: Bam Adebayo O17.5 points (-110)
If you are looking for a safe player prop bet for Saturday night, then look no further than Bam Adebayo over 17.5 points. With the Lakers missing Davis and maybe Morris, they might only have Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell. Therefore, Adebayo might be able to eat as he’s averaging 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game.
The 23-year-old big man has gone over 17.5 points in 15 out of 27 games played this season. In the Heat’s last five contests, Adebayo is averaging 18.2 points per game on 55.1 percent shooting from the field.
