In the first game tip-off on TNT Tuesday night, the New Orleans Pelicans will wrap-up their four-game road trip when they play the Memphis Grizzlies at 8 p.m. ET. These two teams played each other last week, where the Pels won 118-109 at Smoothie King.
The Pelicans are coming into this game on a three-game losing streak after falling 123-112 to the Detroit Pistons Saturday. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are coming off a 124-110 win over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. They have only won two out of their last five games, but are 5-5 in their last 10. Can Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson take down the reigning Rookie of the Year in Ja Morant and snap their three-game losing skid? We’ll go over some ideal picks on DraftKings Sportsbook centered around the game here.
Pelicans vs. Grizzlies, 7:30 p.m. ET, TNT
Pick ATS: Pelicans -0.5
The line for Tuesday night's game is currently set at 0.5 points, with the Pelicans getting the edge on the road. Unless there’s an unforeseen injury or someone resting, this game will likely stay in the pick’em range. The last time these two teams played, the Pels won by nine points down in the Big Easy.
For the Grizzlies to come away with a win, they will need Dillion Brooks, Jonas Valanciunas, and Brandon Clarke to step-up once again on offense against a Pelicans’ squad that can put up points in a hurry. Memphis has a record of 2-5 in their last seven games against the spread and are 4-6-1 ATS at home. As for the Pelicans, they’ve lost their last three games by double-digits. But one way they can get back on track is shooting the ball well consistently behind the arc.
This season, the Pelicans are shooting 35.8 percent from three-point range, which is not bad at all. However, they are allowing opponents to shoot 39 percent from distance this season and 52.8 percent in their last three games. That will not cut it. New Orleans is 5-9 against the spread as the road team and 2-3 ATS in their last five games.
Player Prop: Lonzo Ball O2.5 3-pointers made (+104)
Surprisingly, this prop bet is still sitting at plus money, despite Lonzo Ball shooting the ball well consistently from three-point range. This season, Ball is averaging 13.7 points per game and shooting 37.8 percent from behind the arc. He also leads the Pelicans with 2.8 three-pointers made this season, which is a good sign for tonight’s prop. He has gone over 2.5 made three-pointers in 13 out of 23 games this season. Finally, in the Grizzlies’ last three games, they’ve allowed opponents to shoot only 30.4 percent from deep.
