In one of three Top-25 games on Sunday, the No. 22-ranked Loyola-Chicago Ramblers will play the Drake Bulldogs at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN2. It’s the rare back-to-back in college basketball as these teams will play twice in two days due to COVID-19 scheduling.

Loyola-Chicago (18-3, 13-1) beat Drake 81-54 yesterday for their 11th-straight win. Aher Uguak led all players with 20 points on an efficient 8-of-10 shooting from the field. The Ramblers only had three players in double figures, but shot 63.8 percent from the field, and won the rebounding battle 32-22.

Drake (19-2, 10-2) suffered only their second loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, and gave the Ramblers some breathing room in the MVC standings. Darnell Brodie scored a team-high 12 points and had four rebounds. He was also the only other Bulldogs player to reach double-figures. Drake shot 40.4 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from behind the arc.

  • The Ramblers are now a ridiculous 11-3-2 against the spread in their last 15 games this season. Furthermore, the point total has gone under in eight of Loyola-Chicago’s last 11 games.
  • Despite the loss, Drake is still 15-4 against the spread in their last 19 games this season. The point total has gone over in five of Drake’s last seven games.

The Best Bet

The Bulldogs will be looking for revenge on Sunday afternoon when they play the Ramblers for the second-straight game. Drake got dominated on the glass, at the free-throw line and had one of their worst shooting performances. Meanwhile, Loyola-Chicago is looking better than the team who went to Final Four not too long ago. The Ramblers will try to duplicate this same performance on Sunday. And if they end up doing so, then they will be one step closer towards the first seed in the MVC tourney.
