The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will look to begin a new winning streak, and they have a good chance at making that happen against the struggling Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday, February 13th.
Rutgers (11-7, 7-7 Big Ten) had their four-game streak snapped in their last time out with a 79-66 road loss to the No. 15 Iowa Hawkeyes on Wednesday night. The Scarlet Knights shot just 21.4% from the three-point line. Ron Harper Jr. averages 16.4 points per game but scored just nine on Wednesday and missed all four three-point attempts. Rutgers’ strength is on the defensive end where they rank No. 19 in adjusted defensive efficiency.
Northwestern (6-11, 3-10 Big Ten) is looking for their first victory since they day after Christmas. It’s been a rough 2021 for the Wildcats, as they’ve lost 10 straight games. In their last game, they gave up a pair of late leads in a 79-76 double overtime loss to the Indiana Hoosiers at home on Wednesday night. Northwestern’s leading scorer Chase Audige went for 19 points in the loss.
