In one of three games tipping off at 9 p.m. ET on Friday night, we have the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Utah Jazz. These two teams played back on Jan. 8, where the Jazz won 131-118 at Fiserv Forum. This game features a few great DFS plays that could end up making or breaking your lineup. Many DFS players will opt to put Donovan Mitchell or Giannis Antetokounmpo in their captain spots, which would not be bad ideas.
However, where you can really separate yourself from your opponent is with the FLEX picks, in which both teams have some interesting choices. Let’s go over the Showdown fantasy outlook for the game for contests on DraftKings.
Captain’s Picks
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($18,000) — The Greek Freak is the obvious top captain pick in Friday night’s game. Giannis can stuff the box score with the best of them and is liable to record a triple-double at any given moment. This season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 54.8 fantasy points per game. On Wednesday, he had 70.8 DKFP (47 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) against the Suns. He’ll likely not reach that mark on Friday as the Jazz are ranked first against PF/Cs (OPRK).
Donovan Mitchell ($14,100) — If you want to save some money at the captain spot, then Mitchell is not a bad option. He has taken his game to another level this season and is one of the reasons why the Jazz have the best record in the west. On Wednesday night, Mitchell scored 62.5 DKFP (36 points, 9 assists, 4 rebounds) at a $9400 salary. In the Jazz’s last five games, he is averaging 48.3 fantasy points, which is great production for the captain spot.
FLEX Plays
Bojan Bogdanovic ($11,100) — Khris Middleton would be a great option here, but when you are trying to cut costs in DFS. Sometimes you have to find those cheap, quality value plays. In the Jazz’s last five games, Bogdanovic is averaging 20.8 points per game and shooting a ridiculous 48.6 percent from three-point range. He is also producing 34.9 DKFP over those span of games, which is higher than his season average of 25.8.
Bobby Portis ($9,000) — The veteran big man has been one of my best value plays in DFS this season. Off the bench, Portis averaging 11.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 25 fantasy points per game this season. Portis will likely not be facing Gobert a lot on Friday, so do not be afraid to put him in one of your FLEX spots. In the Bucks’ last three games, he is averaging 19.6 fantasy points per game.
Fades
D.J. Augustin ($4,800) — With Jrue Holiday out due to COVID-19, Milwaukee has gave more minutes to Bryn Forbes and D.J. Augustin. Both guys have played solid and brings a scoring element to the point guard position. Forbes has scored 10 points or more in three-straight games. Meanwhile, Augustin has not scored at least 10 points since February 1 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Outcome
After a tough loss to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, the Bucks will be looking for revenge against the Jazz. However, the Jazz might be able to contain Giannis and Co. as both teams are mirror images of each other. Without Jrue Holiday on the perimeter, we could see Donovan Mitchell score at least 20-25 points.
Final score: Jazz 129, Bucks 120
