UPDATE: Jan. 12, 2:31 p.m. — Oladipo (foot/ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game vs. the New York Knicks. Dipo was injured in Thursday night’s loss to the Heat and was unable to return in the third quarter. The Rockets are also listing Tucker (thigh) as questionable to play. Gordon is expected to start in place of Oladipo on Saturday.

Houston Rockets G Victor Oladipo injured his foot/ankle in the first half Thursday night against the Miami Heat and was ruled out during the third quarter. Oladipo left briefly but was able to return before the Rockets held him out for the rest of the game. Dipo finishes with 6 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 20 minutes. After the third quarter, the Heat were up 75-63.

With Oladipo sidelined the rest of the game, the Rockets will likely lean on Eric Gordon, who started the second half in place of Dipo. Gordon has 12 points in 23 minutes so far against Miami. We don’t know the extent of the injury, but if Oladipo is going to miss any games, Gordon will likely start at SG with Sterling Brown getting additional minutes off the bench.

To start the fourth quarter, the Rockets also ruled out F PJ Tucker, who injured his thigh. So the Rockets are down big to the Heat while also being down two starters, which isn’t a good sign. Danuel House Jr. should get those minutes from Tucker and he’d likely be the starter if Tucker is ruled out Saturday vs. the New York Knicks.
