NBA DFS value plays under $5K for Thursday, February 11th

We go over some top bargain options under $5K on DraftKings for Thursday’s main slate.

There’s plenty of NBA action tonight as five games are taking place across the league, including the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia 76ers heading to Portland for a rematch of a game that took place just a week ago when the Trail Blazers handed the Sixers their only loss in their last seven contests.

That being said, it is a great time to give you some value plays for your DFS contest. Unlike NFL DFS, where one pick can make or break your lineup or it’s tough to find quality low-tier value.

In NBA DFS, you can find quality value plays under $5K that can give you a quick 10 points off the bench, grab some rebounds, or stuff the stat sheet. It doesn’t matter if you are playing a 50/50 or Double-Up contest, we are going to provide you with three players that you need to put in your lineup.

Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia 76ers, $3,200

Maxey, who can play anywhere from 5-20+ minutes in any given game depending on who’s available, could be in a prime spot to earn some extra points against Portland with Shake Milton unlikely to appear for the Sixers with a sore left ankle. That leaves the door wide open for Maxey, who can perform relatively well given the opportunity.

Last week, coincidentally against Portland, Maxey went for 21 minutes and dropped 15 points, four assists, and two rebounds, good for 25.5 DKFP on the night. Keep an eye on the Sixers’ point guard situation, and if Milton is out for the night, then Maxey will be a great pick to throw in your lineup without eating up much of your salary cap.

Daniel Theis, Boston Celtics, $4,900

Theis, who made the start in the Celtics’ 122-108 loss to the Jazz earlier this week, managed to score 23.5 DKFP while racking up a respectable 15 points and four rebounds. Unfortunately for the Celtics, he fouled out in the fourth quarter with just over five minutes to play when they were within just five points. From that time on, the Jazz went on an 18-9 run to finish out the game and give the Celtics their 11th loss on the season.

Theis has been seeing significant minutes and has averaged 20.8 DKFP over the course of the season, and has scored over 20 DKFP in five of his last six games played. As the Celtics focus on hosting the Raptors tonight, Theis is someone who, for an affordable price tag, can add a fair amount of points to your DFS lineup regardless of whether he gets the start or comes off the bench.

Frank Mason, Orlando Magic, $4,000

Newly-signed Mason stepped right into a significant role since Evan Fournier has been out for the past two games with back spasms. Fournier is still listed as questionable for tonight, so Mason could see plenty of playing time if the veteran wing misses the Magic’s contest against the Warriors. Over his last two games, Mason has played 59 minutes, scored 21 points, and added 11 rebounds and four assists, good for a total of 45.75 DKFP.

While Mason will be splitting time between Orlando and Lakeland, you can expect him to easily slot in when needed especially when someone like Fournier is sitting out. This is another situation to keep an eye on, because if Mason gets a good amount of playing time tonight then he’s almost guaranteed to get you 20+ DKFP, and at a price tag of only $4K he seems to be a no-brainer. Magic PG Cole Anthony (shoulder) is also questionable, which adds to Mason’s appeal.
