Update: Sanders has now officially been ruled out of the rest of the contest. Jordan Howard is the backup for Philadelphia.
Update: Sanders doesn’t appear to be on the sidelines for the second half.
No sign of Miles Sanders as the #Eagles come out from the locker room for the second half. https://t.co/NuLyPZxZJA

Philadelphia Eagles running back Miles Sanders has exited Sunday’s Week 16 game vs. the New York Giants with a hand injury. The dynamic tailback had seven carries for 45 yards in the first half and is questionable to return to the game.
Losing Sanders would be a huge blow to the Philly offense, especially considering that he was finally starting to show his RB1 potential. He ran for 120 yards in the team’s Week 13 victory over the Jets before breaking off 131 yards in last Tuesday’s 27-17 win over the Washington Football Team.
Prior to that, Sanders’ 2021 campaign had been disjointed by inconsistencies and injury as the Eagles struggled to establish any semblance of a run game in the first half of the season. Before Week 11, his best performance came in the season opener where he rushed for 74 yards in a blowout victory over the Falcons.
Philadelphia is still trying to fight its way into the NFC playoff picture so we’ll see if Sanders can make it back to the field this afternoon.
