Friday PM update: Hill’s injury isn’t as extensive as the similar injury that Russell Wilson suffered earlier in the year, per Adam Schefter. Hill will go ahead and try to play through the injury.
Saints’ doctors determined that QB Taysom Hill suffered a mallet finger injury Thursday, but it will not require surgery considering it is not as extensive as the one Russell Wilson suffered earlier this year, per source. Hill now will try to play through the injury.

Friday update: Taysom Hill has a torn tendon in his finger, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. There was no doubt that Hill wasn’t able to throw the ball well on Thursday night after injuring his finger and it appears like there was a good reason for that. Rapoport says that this is the same injury that Russell Wilson suffered earlier in the year and had surgery for. Wilson returned quicker than most thought, but he has also been innacurate since returning.
This injury isn’t likely to be exactly the same as Wilson’s, so more tests should give us a better timetable for his return. Trevor Siemian would take over again if Hill misses time.
Update: Hill has returned to the game with a splint on his finger.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Taysom Hill has gone to the injury tent after injuring his finger on the arm of a lineman. Trevor Siemian is warming up at the moment and will come in to the game on their next possession if Hill can’t go.
