Saturday p.m. update: It appears we won’t find out Prescott’s status until Sunday afternoon as he’s reportedly a game-time decision for their Week 8 matchup with the Vikings.
Per @WerderEdESPN: While Dak Prescott said he anticipated a decision following today’s practice as to whether he or Cooper Rush starts vs. the Vikings, two sources now say it will be a game-time decision. “We are literally going to take it into tomorrow (night),” one source said.

Friday PM update: Prescott got in another limited practice on Friday and is officially listed as questionable. We’ve been seeing plenty of mixed takes on his status, with head coach Mike McCarthy laying the groundwork for him to sit and owner Jerry Jones sounding optimistic that he’ll play. He has gotten first team work in the walkthroughs, which means he has the game plan and should be ready to go if the team allows him.
Friday update: Dak Prescott continues to look good in limited work in practice, but backup quarterback Cooper Rush has been getting the bulk of the first-team reps, per Michael Gehlken. Prescott was also sore after ramping up work on Thursday. Prescott isn’t looking like he’ll start this week, but there is still time for him to convince the team.

Thursday update: All signs on the field make it seem like Dak Prescott will play, as he got in two limited practices and all reports say he looked good. But, we’ve seen the Sportsbooks sour on the Cowboys today and Prescott himself says he would understand if the team sat him against the Vikings:

Wednesday update: Prescott got in a limited practice and appears to be on track to play against the Viking on Dunday Night Football. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb believes Prescott will play after he looked good in practice:

Monday update: Prescott wasn’t wearing a walking boot on Monday, per Clarence Hill Jr. Unless he were to have a setback, it seems likely that he’ll play against the Vikings on Sunday Night Football.
Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott is not expected to participate in a light practice on Monday after suffering a calf injury in Week 6, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
The earliest Prescott could practice would be on Wednesday, but the team will be keeping close eye on the starting quarterback. However, the Cowboys are reportedly optimistic that will be ready to play against the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday night.
Fantasy football implications
It would be a surprise if Prescott cannot play next week against the Vikings. If the Cowboys had a game this week and not a bye, then I could possibly see him sitting out. Prescott has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league and one of the main reasons why sit in first place in the NFC East. This season, Prescott is completing a career-high 73.1% of his passes for 1,813 yards, 16 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
