Why Peyton and Eli Manning are not announcing Monday Night Football on ESPN in Week 6

Eli and Peyton Manning are on a three-week break from their Monday Night Football broadcast on ESPN2. They’ll be back in Week 7.

Another week of Monday Night Football, and unfortunately another week of no ManningCast. Week 6 MNF will feature the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans, and frankly that should be enough to keep us entertained. But, if you were looking to enjoy the alternate broadcast Peyton Manning and Eli Manning put on, you’ll have to wait a little longer. They will be calling ten MNF games this season, and right now they are in a break until Week 7.

The ManningCast aired on ESPN2 and ESPN+ during the Weeks 1-4 MNF games. It ran opposite the main ESPN broadcast that featured Steve Levy, former NFL quarterback Brian Griese, former Eagles scout Louis Riddick, and Lisa Salters.

The latter group is plenty talented, so hopefully they are not taking offense, but “Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli” or the “ManningCast” as it has been called, have been absolutely phenomenal. One hopes we get more of it beyond just the ten games this season.

If you are looking for the return of the ManningCast, you only need to wait one more week. They’ll be back in Week 7 for Saints vs. Seahawks and then Week 8 for Giants vs. Chiefs.
