McVay ‘hopeful’ Aaron Donald plays in Divisional round

Rams all-world DT Aaron Donald is dealing with a rib injury, but could play next week

UPDATE: Coach Sean McVay is hopeful that Donald can play next week, per Mike Garafolo. According to Garafolo, Donald didn’t break any ribs against the Seahawks, but will have an MRI on Sunday to see the extent of his injury.

UPDATE: The Rams have downgraded Donald to doubtful with his rib injury.

UPDATE: The Rams announced that Donald has a rib injury and is questionable to return. He has three tackles with two sacks in the game.

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald is having a whale of a game against the Seattle Seahawks, but he is now headed to the locker room in the third quarter. He pressured Russell Wilson into an incompletion and pulled him to the ground at the end of the play. Wilson landed on Donald’s abdomen and the all-world pass rusher went to his knee in pain.

Trainers came out and eventually Donald walked off the field. He subsequently went to the locker room and his status midway through the third quarter is unclear.
