Gameday inactives for Bucs vs. Washington Wild Card matchup

We discuss the gameday inactives for the Washington Football Team and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their impact in the Wild Card round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs.

The biggest question coming into this game was who would get the start at quarterback for the Washington Football Team. We know now that it is Taylor Heinicke, who looked up to the task two weeks ago when he subbed in for Dwayne Haskins. We’ll see what he can do against a tough Buccaneers pass rush tonight.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers inactives

TE Antony Auclair
QB Ryan Griffin
DL Jeremiah Ledbetter
RB LeSean McCoy
CB Herb Miller
G Aaron Stinnie
WR Justin Watson

The impact

Tampa Bay’s only impactful inactive is LeSean McCoy, who has an illness and won’t play. He’s been used off and on as the third-down back for the Bucs this season, but he hasn’t been getting a lot of work.

Wide receiver Mike Evans was expected to play, but he is officially active.

Washington Football Team inactives

QB Alex Smith
LB Thomas Davis
OT David Steinmetz
RB Lamar Miller
WR Antonio Gandy-Golden
LB Jordan Kunaszyk

The impact

Taylor Heinicke is a downgrade from Alex Smith, but is healthier and likely the better play with Smith unable to avoid a strong Buccaneers pass rush.
