Championship results
Bucs vs. Packers final score update
The Bucs defense stepped up when it was needed to help overcome three Tom Brady interceptions and Tampa Bay is headed to Super Bowl 55. The Bucs won 31-26 by allowing only six points off their turnovers. They’ll be the first team to play in a Super Bowl in their home stadium.
Chiefs vs. Bills final score update
Kansas City started slow but picked up steam and became inevitable. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce combined for 22 receptions, 290 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Chiefs will attempt to become the first repeat Super Bowl champ since the Patriots won Super Bowl 38 and 39.
Divisional results
Bucs vs. Saints final score update
The Bucs defensive dominated this game and Drew Brees struggled in a big way. Tom Brady and the Bucs offense turned three turnovers into 21 points en route to a 30-20 win. It was not a pretty game, but the Bucs got enough on offense to take advantage of the opportunities. Tampa Bay will travel to face the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game.
Browns vs. Chiefs final score update
The Chiefs are headed back to the AFC Championship Game after a wild 22-17 win over the Browns. They’ll host the Bills next Sunday, but it’s unclear what Patrick Mahomes’ status will be for the game. KC jumped out to a 19-3 lead in the first half but Cleveland would not go away. And then, midway through the third quarter, Mahomes took a hit on a designed option run and left the game with a concussion. Chad Henne made a key run and then fourth down pass to secure the win, but if he has to play next week against Buffalo, the degree of difficulty increases considerably.
Ravens vs. Bills final score update
Buffalo beat Baltimore 17-3 to advance to the AFC Championship Game, and while it was not pretty, it got the job done. Neither team could get consistent offense going in the first half. The wind was a problem but it was also just incredibly sloppy play. Justin Tucker missed a pair of field goals and the game was tied 3-3 at the half. The Bills broke it open in the third quarter, scoring a Stefon Diggs touchdown on a 66-yard drive and then adding another one on a Taron Johnson 101-yard pick-six of Lamar Jackson. Jackson later suffered a concussion and the Ravens could not recover.
Rams vs. Packers final score update
Aaron Rodgers led an impressive offensive effort as Green Bay beat LA 32-18 to advanced to the NFC Championship Game. Rodgers threw for 296 yards and two touchdowns while adding a rushing touchdown. Aaron Jones rushed for 99 yards and a score and Davante Adams led the way with nine receptions for 66 yards and a score. The Packers will face the winner of Sunday’s Bucs-Saints game.
Wild Card results
Browns vs. Steelers final score update
Wild Card weekend closed with a wild one. The Browns jumped out to a 35-7 lead but looked like they might blow it in the third quarter. The Steelers scored 16 straight and had the ball trailing 35-23. They elected not to go for it on fourth down and the Browns offense got back on track with an 80-yard scoring drive. The Steelers wouldn’t go away, but they had no answers for the Browns offense and lost 48-37.
The Browns will travel to face the Chiefs in the Divisional round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs. Cleveland’s win means the Ravens will travel to face the Bills.
Bears vs. Saints final score update
The Saints struggled to get their offense going out of the gate, but they pulled away in the second half en route to a 21-9 win. Drew Brees threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns. Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas returned from IR and had a combined 199 yards and two touchdowns.
New Orleans advances to the divisional round where they will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Green Bay Packers will host the Los Angeles Rams.
Ravens vs. Titans final score update
Baltimore came back after a 10-0 deficit to defeat Tennessee in Nashville. Lamar Jackson spurred the offense with a 48-yard touchdown run, highlighting a 104-yard effort. The defense put together an impressive performance, holding Derrick Henry to 40 rushing yards — his worst performance of the season.
Baltimore advanced to the divisional round and will find out their opponent once Browns-Steelers wraps Sunday evening. If the Steelers win, the Ravens will travel to face the Chiefs. If the Browns win, the Ravens will travel to face the Bills.
Buccaneers vs. Washington final score update
The Buccaneers escaped an unexpectedly difficult game against Washington. The Bucs won 31-23 after forcing a fourth down stop against QB Taylor Heinicke in the final two minutes. Heinicke got the start after Alex Smith was deactivated due to his calf injury and impressed but came up short. He threw for 306 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Mike Evans had a big game after coming into the game questionable. He caught six passes for 119 yards, while Tom Brady threw for 381 yards and two touchdowns. Leonard Fournette got the start at running back due to Ronald Jones suffering a pre-game injury and rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Bucs divisional round opponent depends on the outcome of Bears-Saints on Sunday. If New Orleans wins, Tampa will travel to face their NFC South rivals. If Chicago wins, Tampa will travel to Green Bay.
Rams vs. Seahawks final score update
The Rams defense and Cam Akers keyed a 30-20 win over the Seahawks. Akers rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown and the defense held Seattle to 278 total yards. Russell Wilson looked rattled most of the afternoon.
LA did this in spite of multiple significant injuries. Starting quarterback John Wolford injured his neck on the second drive of the game and had to get checked out at the hospital. In the third quarter, Aaron Donald left the game after injuring his ribs and did not return. The team also lost Cooper Kupp to a leg injury in the final 2:05. The status of all these players is unclear for the divisional round.
The Rams await the remaining NFC Wild Card games before knowing their divisional round opponent. If the Saints beat the Bears, the Rams will face Packers. If the Bears beat the Saints, the Rams will face the winner of Bucs-Washington.
Colts vs. Bills final score update
The Bills opened the 2021 NFL Playoffs with a wild 27-24 win over the Colts. Josh Allen led the way with 324 yards and two touchdowns along with 54 rushing yards and a score. Stefon Diggs led the Bills with 128 receiving yards and a score.
Buffalo escaped a near collapse, stopping the Colts on a Hail Mary attempt in the closing seconds. The Bills took a 24-10 lead, but a pair of Colts touchdowns late around a Buffalo field goal turned this one into a nail-biter. Philip Rivers threw for 309 yards and two scores while Jonathan Taylor rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown.
The No. 2 seed Bills and No. 1 seed Chiefs will find out their divisional round opponents on Sunday after the two remaining AFC Wild Card round games are played.
Finally! The NFL playoffs are here. Wild Card Weekend kicks off on Saturday, and this isn’t just any ol’ Wild Card Weekend, it’s actually a Super Wild Card Weekend. What makes it “super,” you ask? Because there are two more teams in the playoffs this year, and with the second seed in each conference no longer having a bye to start the postseason, we actually get six games this weekend, three on Saturday and three more on Sunday. It all culminates in Tampa Bay, Florida, at Super Bowl 55.
The action starts at 1:05 p.m. ET on CBS with the AFC No. 2 seed Buffalo Bills hosting the seventh seeded Indianapolis Colts. In the booth for that one will be Ian Eagle, Charles Davis, and Evan Washburn. You can also catch it on the CBS All Access streaming platform. The Bills are favored by 6.5 points in that one, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook, but if the Colts defense can recapture some of the magic they had earlier in the season, they could really slow down Buffalo’s high-powered offense.
Next up, the Seattle Seahawks welcome their division rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, for a 4:40 p.m. ET kickoff. That game will be on FOX, called by Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Erin Andrews, and Tom Rinaldi. Seattle is favored by a field goal, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook, and on Friday, we were still waiting to see whether or not the Rams would have quarterback Jared Goff back in action.
Saturday’s action wraps up in Washington where the Football Team takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC. Mike Tirico, Tony Dungy, and Kathryn Tappen will call this one. Tampa Bay is an eight-point favorite at the DraftKings Sportsbook, and Washington’s chances to pull off the upset will come down to how well its defense can keep Tom Brady running for his life.
Sunday’s triple-header starts in Nashville with the Tennessee Titans hosting the Baltimore Ravens in what should be one of the most exciting games on tap. That one gets underway at 1:05 p.m. ET on ESPN, and it’ll be simulcast on ABC. The main broadcast team is Steve Levy, Brian Griese, Louis Riddick, and Lisa Salters. But ESPN will offer a few different lineups talking about the game on their different channels and platforms. The Ravens are favored by three, and this one has the highest over/under at 55, according to the DraftKings Sportsbook.
The New Orleans Saints host the Chicago Bears in the afternoon matinee, kicking off at 4:40 p.m. ET on CBS. This one has Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, Jay Feely & Tracy Wolfson calling the game on the main network. Nickelodeon will also broadcast this one, featuring Noah Eagle, Nate Burleson, Gabrielle Nevaeh Green, and Lex Lumpkin in the booth. You can also catch this game on Amazon Prime, featuring the broadcast team of Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer. According to the DraftKings Sportsbook, the Saints are 10-point favorites here, the biggest spread of all six games this weekend.
The weekend wraps up with the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Cleveland Browns at 8:15 p.m. on NBC. The usual Sunday Night Football team of Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, and Michele Tafoya will call that one. According to the DraftKings Sportsbook, the Browns are six-point underdogs in their first playoff appearance since football was invented (actually just 2002, the longest drought in the NFL.)
Watch online: The networks will be streaming the games as well, but you’ll need a subscription to access some of them. There are also additional services where you can watch the games online, like Sling, Fubo, etc. Each game is also available on mobile for free via the Yahoo Sports app.
