The Browns are six-point underdogs in Heinz Field for Sunday night, which could favor a need to play “catch up” with a pass-heavy scheme in the second half.
Jarvis Landry scored last week versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meanwhile, Rashard Higgins exceeded 50 receiving yards for the fifth time in his last six games. What can these two accomplish in a rematch with the Steelers during this Sunday’s playoff game?
Fantasy Football analysis: Browns WRs Jarvis Landry ($5,800), Rashard Higgins ($4,100)
Landry has come to life, statistically, over his last five games. Entering Week 12, he had accounted for just one touchdown (a passing TD in Week 4) and crossed 50 receiving yards only twice. In five games since, he has averaged 73.8 receiving yards per game, surpassing 50 yards each time. He has also added four touchdowns to his ledger. That includes his 3-yard rushing TD against Pittsburgh last week. Landry has seen about nine targets per game and has caught almost seven passes per game during this flourish.
Higgins is certainly the greater big-play threat of these two players and has averaged more than 16 yards per catch through his last four games. His average line during that past month: 4.5 catches on 6.75 targets, 73.5 yards and 0.5 touchdowns. Higgins scored at Pittsburgh in Week 6, but that 13-yard TD represented his only catch.
Each man will be challenged to reach those averages this week as no wideout has caught more than five passes or topped 65 receiving yards against the Steelers over their past three games.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Neither man is a very safe play. Landry has the higher floor as a WR3 option. But for $1,700 less, Higgins and his big-play ability make him probably the better choice in tournaments.
