Wednesday update: Coach Pete Carroll is slow rolling Adams’ status for the Wild Card round, but Adams is adamant he is a “full-go” this week, per John Boyle.
Tuesday update: Pete Carroll says that Adams will be a game-time decision against the Rams this Saturday, per Jon Boyle.
The Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams was forced from their Week 17 game against the Arizona Cardinals with a shoulder injury. It appeared as though Adams wasn’t happy about not being allowed back into the game, but there was no reason to risk further injury in a game that ended up being meaningless.
After the game, when asked about Adams injury, Carroll said, “we’ll see what that means for next week,” but then did go on to say the Seahawks trainers relayed to him that all indications point toward Adams being able to play.
Adams has missed time with a shoulder injury this season, but this particular injury is to his other shoulder. Adams has been part of a bit of a resurgence for Seattle’s secondary. They started the season as one of the worst pass defenses in the league, but have been playing much better in the second half of the season. Adams being healthy for the playoffs would go a long way toward raising their level of play.
