The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have secured the fifth seed in the NFC and are set to take on the Washington Football Team in the Wild Card Round. Tom Brady is about to begin his first playoff run with his new team. He had to battle to get in after making the playoffs in all but two of the seasons he played in New England.

Here’s a look at the opening odds of this matchup between the Buccaneers and Washington in the first round of the 2021 NFL Playoffs. Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Washington Football Team

Point spread: Bucs -7.5
Point total: 46.5
Moneyline: Bucs -360, Washington +280

The Bucs didn’t start off the season so hot, as they looked sloppy in their Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints. They went on to win seven of their next 10 games despite battling a slew of health problems at wide receiver. Brady has been able to keep up his usual gunslinger ways thanks to his star-studded receiving corps, which is composed of Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown. He also has two viable backs in Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette at his disposal. Tampa Bay’s run defense is arguably the best in the league but the secondary will have to pull its weight in this matchup.

The Washington Football Team outlasted the disaster that was the NFC East with a record of 7-9. The Football Team turned their season around when they put Alex Smith under center and benched second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Washington had a record of 5-4 in nine games with the veteran quarterback and head coach Ron Rivera. For the Football Team to have any chance of winning in the Wild Card round, they will lean on their ferocious defensive line led by defensive end Chase Young.
