The Pittsburgh Steelers are slotted in as the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the AFC, and they are resting starters as they didn’t have a traditional bye week this season. What should fantasy owners be doing with running back James Conner? Let’s take a closer look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Steelers RB James Conner
In its last time out, Pittsburgh went to the air 49 times with just 14 total rushing attempts in a come-from-behind 28-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. In that game, Conner carried the ball just five times for 21 yards but salvaged his day with a touchdown. He also caught all five targets for 45 receiving yards.
While Roethlisberger is expected to sit out this game, it appears Conner will be among the players still competing. Pittsburgh will be doing everything it can to make sure its team goes into the postseason as healthy as possible, making Conner a risky play against the Cleveland Browns, which are in the playoffs with a victory.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Conner is a back-end running back No. 3 and is a risky play if you’re going to lean on him in the final weekend of the regular season.
