What to do with Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, Breshad Perriman in Week 17 of the fantasy football playoffs

The Jets have one game left this season to evaluate rookie Denzel Mims while also seeing Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman fit into their future.

One of the most maddening years in recent New York Jets history will conclude Sunday with a matchup against the New England Patriots. With the dream of Trevor Lawrence firmly out of reach, the Jets can instead attempt to close the season with back-to-back-to-back wins as well as victory over the team that has haunted them for the last two decades.

Fantasy Football analysis: Jets WRs Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, Breshad Perriman

Despite losing four games to injuries, Jamison Crowder leads the Jets in receptions (55), receiving yards (668), and touchdown catches (six). On a per-game basis, those numbers compare favorably with the league’s better No. 2 wide receivers. Even with all the Jets’ other featured wideouts available this week, Crowder remains in position to lead the group again against the Patriots.

In contrast, Denzel Mims looks more like a lottery ticket. His big-play ability and superior athletic traits allow him to “hit home runs,” but he doesn’t see much work overall and very little in the short or intermediate game. No wide receiver on the roster stands a better chance of delivering a 75-yard touchdown, but Mims could also go without a reception as he did last week against the Cleveland Browns.

While Breshad Perriman factored meaningfully into the Jets offense in October and November, he hasn’t done much since. His top game over the last month saw him catch three passes for 21 yards and no touchdowns. New York likely doesn’t view Perriman as a big part of its future, and with younger wideouts on the roster to evaluate, his role in the offense will remain small.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start Crowder as a low-end WR2.

Sit Mims and Perriman.
