UPDATE: Bell is expected to be active for Sunday’s game, but Ian Rapoport is reporting Darwin Thompson is slated to get the bulk of the workload. Sit Bell in all fantasy formats.
The Kansas City Chiefs already have the top seed in the AFC locked up, and they are going to be sitting their stars for their Week 17 matchup. Could that lead to an increase in usage for running back Le’Veon Bell? Let’s take a closer look.
Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs RB Le’Veon Bell
Clyde Edwards-Helaire wouldn’t be playing anyways because he’s dealing with an injury, but he will not be able to go on Sunday. Without him in the lineup last weekend, Bell finished with 30 rushing yards on seven carries, and Darrel Williams had 10 rushing attempts.
Bell is also banged up heading into this game, so be sure to check out the injury reports as we get closer to kickoff. He was a limited participant in practice on Friday with a knee injury. The Chiefs are going up against the Los Angeles Chargers, which are ranked 21st against the run in terms of rushing yards allowed per game.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Bell is a No. 4 running back at best for fantasy purposes this weekend, so you can probably keep him out of the lineup.
