What to do with D’Andre Swift, Adrian Peterson in Week 17 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of D’Andre Swift and Adrian Peterson ahead of the Lions Week 17 matchup against the Vikings.

It might be the end of the regular season, but you do have one more week to extract a little fantasy football production from the Detroit Lions backfield. Now, when I say the backfield, I really mean rookie running back D’Andre Swift. He’s the only one here with any fantasy value, and he’s got a great matchup this week against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Football analysis: Lions RBs D’Andre Swift, Adrian Peterson

Swift had 45 yards on 10 carries last week, adding another 25 receiving yards on four catches. He’s regularly seeing four or more receptions each week, which typically makes him a high upside RB2 in fantasy lineups. Peterson’s workload is minimal as long as Swift is healthy, not enough to merit attention in fantasy.

There isn’t much to Minnesota’s run defense, as the Saints proved last week with Alvin Kamara’s six touchdowns. The week before that they gave up two scores and 146 yards to David Montgomery of the Bears. Is Swift going to score six times? No. But it’s not a stretch to think that he could have the best game of his rookie season this week.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Start D’Andre Swift. He’s just $6,300 in DraftKings this week too.
