Game day update: Stafford is expected to start, but if this game gets out of hand at all, don’t be surprised to see him pulled to avoid risking further injury.

At the end of the week, we still lacked confirmation of whether or not Matthew Stafford would be starting under center in what might be his final game with the Detroit Lions. Stafford is dealing with a cascade of injuries, but he did practice on Thursday. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Stafford was pulled early in this one for Chase Daniel. As far as the fantasy football perspective goes, however, whoever is starting for the Lions, you can leave them out of your lineup.

Fantasy Football analysis: Lions QBs Matthew Stafford, Chase Daniel

Stafford left after just three passing attempts last week after suffering an ankle sprain against the Buccaneers. In his five starts before that, he had just one game with more than a single touchdown throw, which tells you a lot about his fantasy value this season. Working in relief of Stafford, Daniel had just 86 yards on 15 completed passes.
