2 kickers to start and 2 kickers to fade in Week 17 fantasy football

We go over who you should start and who you should sit at kicker for Week 17.

We have officially at the last week of the 2020 NFL regular season, which means your fantasy football season is likely over. Or you are in the second leg of your championship match and on the brink of possibly bringing home the win. At this point of the season, we have an idea of who is playing and who is resting guys for the postseason.

That being said, there are still a few teams with something to play for and their kickers could have a huge role on the field and in fantasy football. Let’s look at couple of kickers you need to pickup and two you need to completely fade in Week 17.

Kicker Starts

Cairo Santos, Bears vs. Packers

Just like we did in Week 16, we are going to mention Cairo Santos as a kicker you need to start or pickup off waivers if he is still there. Last week, the Chicago Bears erupted for 41 points in their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Santos was a perfect 5-of-5 on extra points and 2-of-2 on field goals, which gave him 11 fantasy points. It was third-straight game that the 29-year-old kicker crossed the 10-point threshold.

This week, the Bears are fighting for their playoff lives against the Green Bay Packers, who are also playing for the No. 1 seed in the NFC. It’s hard imagine the Bears offense putting up another 30-point performance, meaning we could see a lot of Santos.

Rodrigo Blankenship, Colts vs. Jaguars

Speaking of the Jaguars, the Indianapolis Colts are next up to face them in a must-win spot on Sunday. The Colts need to win and have some other things happen for them to make the playoffs. Luckily, Indianapolis’ offense is going up against a Jaguars’ defense that has given up 40-plus points in back-to-back weeks.

That being said, we could be seeing Colts kicker Rodrigo Blankenship a lot in Week 17. This season, the young kicker has a field goal percentage of 90.9 (30/33) and 95.3 extra point percentage (41/43). In the Colts’ last three games, Blankenship is averaging 10.3 fantasy points per game.

Kicker Sits

Dan Bailey, Vikings vs. Lions

This game features two teams, who do not have nothing to play for in the final week of the regular season. Nevertheless, the Vikings should be able to score points against a lackluster Lions’ defense, despite not having running back Dalvin Cooker.

However, do not start kicker Dan Bailey, who has been one of the worst kickers statistically this season and is dealing with a back injury. Bailey has a 70 field goal percentage, good for 30th in the NFL.

Jake Elliott, Eagles vs. Washington Football Team

The Philadelphia Eagles enter Week 17 with nothing to play for against the Washington Football Team. If they somehow move the football against this stout Washington front seven, then there could be some opportunities for Jake Elliott, who has struggled this season.

Elliott only has one double-digit fantasy performance, which took place in Week 3 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Last week, the 25-year-old kicker only mustered five fantasy points as the Eagles got blown out against the Dallas Cowboys.
