The San Francisco 49ers close out an injury-riddled 2020 campaign on Sunday when they host the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers will be short-handed at several positions, but they are healthy as can be at tight end. George Kittle returned last week from a Week 8 broken foot and Jordan Reed has stayed relatively healthy for most of the second half of the season.
Fantasy Football analysis: 49ers TEs George Kittle, Jordan Reed
Kittle was instant offense last week against the Arizona Cardinals in his return from injured reserve. He caught four passes for 92 yards and was a bulldozing blocker. He was on a snap count, playing only half the team’s offensive snaps, but he was efficient in his opportunities. This week he faces a Seahawks defense that ranks fifth in fantasy points allowed to tight ends over the past four weeks, but has proven he is a must start.
Reed saw a significant decrease in snaps with Kittle returning. Ross Dwelley ended up with more work in serving as the complementary blocking option. With Reed not even getting much work in a somewhat limited workday for Kittle, it’s safe to drop him in most formats.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Kittle in all formats.
Sit Reed in all formats.
