What to do with Tua Tagovailoa in Week 17 of the fantasy football playoffs

We go over the fantasy football outlook of Tua Tagovailoa ahead of the Dolphins Week 17 matchup against the Bills.

Fantasy Football analysis: Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa

Week 16 represented the second time in five games that Tua was benched and replaced in-game by Ryan Fitzpatrick. The fact that the rookie struggled so mightily to move the ball versus the Raiders’ subpar defense is concerning. As such, the possibility of a quick hook will continue to hang over him if the offense sputters this week, where a win would get the Dolphins into the playoffs. However, the Bills might rest their key players Sunday (the team won’t say one way or another). If Buffalo sits some of its defensive stars, that would ease a rather daunting matchup as the Bills have allowed one or fewer touchdown passes in six of their last nine games. Tua has finished with 145 passing yards or less in three of his last five. Of course, his legs raise his fantasy floor; Tagovailoa has rushed for three TDs over the past three weeks.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

What Tua really needs is the return of WR DeVante Parker. We’ll see if that happens; he’s questionable to suit up. If he is a go, Tua could be a decent DFS value play at $5,100. He’s a mid-range QB2 in traditional leagues.
