The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be a Wild Card team no matter if they win or lose in Week 17. But since a W would match them up against the sub-.500 NFC East champion, head coach Bruce Arians said this week that he will not rest his starters; the Bucs are playing for the W against the Atlanta Falcons. Thus, we must examine what lies ahead for Tom Brady.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs QB Tom Brady
Brady has rebounded from a November swoon to produce an 8:0 touchdown-to-interception ratio in three December games. Games against the Vikings, Falcons and Lions are bound to fatten up any QB’s stat sheet, but at least Brady is taking advantage of that easy slate. And here come the Falcons again in Week 17. Brady threw for 390 yards and two touchdowns against them a fortnight ago. Setting aside the Falcons’ outstanding effort against Patrick Mahomes and Co. last week, Atlanta has allowed the second-most completions, passing yards and fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Their 30 passing TDs allowed ranks as the fifth-most.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
The Falcons limiting Mahomes to just 20 DK points last week was truly incredible. But I digress. Brady is priced at $7,200 on DraftKings, up $600 from where he was two weeks ago when he played Atlanta. Somewhere between 25-30 DraftKings points feels like an expected output here. He’s a safe QB1 in season-long leagues.
