The Houston Texans close out the regular season on Sunday with a divisional matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Despite the fact that the Texans have nothing to play for, it still looks like a great game to squeeze some fantasy value out of their wide receivers. Here’s how it breaks down for Week 17.
Fantasy Football analysis: Texans WRs Brandin Cooks, Keke Coutee
Cooks went off last week against the Bengals. He caught seven passes on 10 targets for 141 yards and a touchdown. That was the first time he’s found the end zone since Week 9 and his first outing with over 100 yards since Week 6. Coutee caught all five targets thrown his way for 54 yards.
The last time these two teams met, Cooks was a No. 2 receiving behind the since suspended Will Fuller. He still finished that one with nine catches on nine targets for 68 yards and a touchdown. (Fuller had 123 yards and a score that day.)
Tennessee has given up big performances to wide receivers lately, including Davante Adams last week and Marvin Jones the week before that. They’ve given up nine touchdowns to opposing receivers in their last four.
Houston’s passing game could suffer a bit without left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who could sit out with an injury, but I wouldn’t let that keep me from starting Cooks this week.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
Start Brandin Cooks as a WR2 with some upside this week. You might consider Keke Coutee as a Flex option, but he’s not producing much lately.
