How and what to watch for TCU vs. No. 15 Kansas

We go over how you can watch Thursday’s TCU-Kansas matchup, as well as what you should look out for from a betting perspective.

TCU is set to visit No. 15 Kansas for a Thursday night Big 12 basketball matchup at 8 p.m. ET. Both teams have been subpar in conference play this year and could benefit from some momentum. Which team will snap its three-game losing streak?

Kansas (10-5, 4-4) has fallen to two ranked teams — No. 24 Oklahoma and No. 2 Baylor — in a row since falling to Oklahoma State. The Jayhawks could use an easy win and dominated TCU by claiming a 29-point victory earlier this month. They don’t have any legitimate stars but have been able to edge out the competition by playing team ball and getting significant contributions from all their starters. Senior point guard Marcus Garrett has played well over the losing streak, including a 21-point, 12-rebound performance against the Sooners.

The Horned Frogs (9-5, 2-4) have also lost Oklahoma and Baylor in their last two games, and both matchups resulted in blowouts. They haven’t won since their first game in 2021 and have struggled to keep up with the big-time competition in the Big 12. Thursday will be TCU’s fourth-straight game against a ranked opponent, and it will go head to head with No. 12 Missouri on Saturday. The Horned Frogs will need to get a strong showing from RJ Nembhard, who leads them in points (17.2) and assists (4.1) per game.

Point Spread, Totals, Odds, Trends

Point spread: Kansas -14.5
Point Total: 136.5
Money line: TCU +900, Kansas -1667

  • Kansas is just 6-8 against the spread this year and only 3-6 ATS at home.
  • TCU is 4-9-1 against the spread overall, but 2-2 vs. the number on the road.

The Best Bet

Neither side is really consistent against the spread, but it’s hard to pass on Kansas at home given how badly it beat TCU on the road earlier this month. The Jayhawks’ well-rounded team will likely overwhelm the visitors unless Nembhard puts together a monster performance.

Pick: Kansas -14.5
