The Bucs won outright as underdogs, and the game went over the point total. We break down the odds.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game and are now headed to Super Bowl 55 in their home town of Tampa. The Bucs won 31-26 thanks in large part to some big plays by Tampa’s defense. Tom Brady had a hit or miss day, throwing three touchdowns but also throwing three interceptions. A questionable Packers field goal decision and a defensive pass interference call on Kevin King are the plays we’ll remember from this game.

The Super Bowl is the biggest single gambling event of the sports calendar, but plenty was wagered on the NFC title game. Here’s a quick look at how the point spread and point total odds closed at DraftKings Sportsbook and the result for this game.

The point spread for the game opened at Packers -3.5. It moved up to four points at one point but then came back down to 3.5 for much of the week. Some late money on the Bucs dropped it to an even field goal. 74 percent of total bets and 74 percent of total handle was on the Packers to cover. The Bucs covered and got the outright win.

The point total for the game opened at 51.5 and closed at 52.5 just before kickoff. 67 percent of total bets and 72 percent of total handle were on the over. The game went over both the opening and closing point totals when Ryan Succup converted a 46-yard field goal with 4:46 to go.
