What to do with Patrick Mahomes in the AFC Championship

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Patrick Mahomes ahead of the Chiefs matchup up against the Bills in the AFC Championship.

Why Patrick Mahomes’ foot injury warrants concern if he’s able to play

Deep breath, Chiefs fans: Patrick Mahomes has cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and is all set for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game versus the Buffalo Bills. How should you approach him in your DraftKings contests? Let’s talk about it.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, $7,600

The Bills’ pass defense, led by cornerback Tre’Davious White, have been fairly stout this season. They allowed only 23 passing touchdowns during the regular season, and they have held four of the past six starting QBs they have faced to fewer than 200 passing yards.

But let’s not forget who we’re talking about here. Mahomes tallied 21.6 DraftKings points last week against the Cleveland Browns in less than three full quarters. If not for Aaron Rodgers, Mahomes may have become a two-time MVP after just four seasons in the league.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

There might be some trepidation from DFS players to trust Mahomes coming off of his concussion. Don’t fall into that trap. Approach Mahomes as if he is 100% going into this game. Start him wherever you can.
