What to do with Darrel Williams in the AFC Championship

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Darrel Williams ahead of the Chiefs matchup up against the Bills in the AFC Championship.

Darrel Willams has acquitted himself well recently while operating as the Chiefs’ lead running back. But he may have some company in KC’s backfield against the Buffalo Bills.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs RB Darrel Williams, $4,800

Williams looked good last week against the Browns, gaining 78 yards on just 13 carries and catching all of his four targets for 16 yards. Le’Veon Bell was active then, but it hardly mattered. Bell may not play in this game because of his swollen left knee, but it appears that Clyde Edwards-Helaire may make his return for the AFC Championship. The first-round rookie has been on the mend since Week 15 because of ankle and hip ailments, but he was able to make it through the entire practice week without incident, putting in limited work each day. It’s impossible to say which man will see the majority of the backfield touches against the Bills, and that’s unfortunate since Buffalo allowed 4.6 yards per carry this season and the 13th-most fantasy points to running backs.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Edwards-Helaire costs $5,000 despite his four-week absence, so Williams is quite the bargain here. It would be great if we had more clarity on the workload split, but as it is, Williams is a great DFS value play in GPP contests.
