What to do with Devin Singletary in the AFC Championship

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Devin Singletary ahead of the Bills matchup up against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship.

The Bills ended a 27-season drought of not reaching the AFC Championship by toppling the Ravens by a score of 17-3. Buffalo will now travel to Kansas City to attempt to knock off the defending champions. With Devin Singletary acting as the lead running back for the Bills, will he be a viable DFS option on a condensed two-game slate?

Fantasy Football analysis: Bills RB Devin Singletary, $4,500

The Bills/Ravens game lacked the offensive excitement that fantasy players were hoping for, and normally that bodes well for the winning side’s running back. Unfortunately, that was not the case for Singletary, who logged just seven carries for 25 yards. Including postseason games, Devin has only posted double-digit fantasy points in 39% of outings this season. There was speculation that his role would expand with Zack Moss being placed on IR with an ankle injury in the Wild Card Round, but that has yet to materialize for Singletary.

There is some hope that he will be relied on against a Kansas City run defense that allowed the eighth-most DKFP per game to opposing running backs. It’s even more encouraging that the Chiefs gave up the most receiving yards to RBs this season, especially after seeing Singletary reel in all three of his targets last week. In the Bills’ Week 6 meeting against the Chiefs, though, Devin was held to 5.5 DKFP, a score that could easily be repeated come Sunday.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

The RB field is slim on this slate. While Singletary is risky, he’s extremely cheap for a clear lead back. Start him if you want to safely spend up at wide receiver.
