What to do with Mecole Hardman in the AFC Championship

We go over the fantasy football and DFS outlook of Mecole Hardman ahead of the Chiefs matchup up against the Bills in the AFC Championship.

Mecole Hardman had one of his best games of the season week, just in time to help put the Kansas City Chiefs over the top in their Divisional round showdown with the Browns. Hardman hauled in all four of his targets last week, rolling up 58 yards in the process. While he wasn’t likely on too many fantasy football rosters last week, his outing makes you wonder a little bit about his potential for this week’s AFC Championship game against the Bills.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman, $4,000

That was the most yardage Hardman has had since Week 8. Hardman very rarely gets blanked in a game, but he’s usually puts up less than 10 fantasy points in most outings too, going by DraftKings scoring. He hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 8 either.

It’s just hard for anyone else on this roster to breakthrough consistently with big fantasy points when Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill are there. Complicating things even more for Hardman this week is the potential return of Sammy Watkins.

Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation

Hardman’s not a bad option for a third receiver or flex player at that price. But if Watkins winds up playing—he was practicing on Thursday—Hardman’s value sinks.
