Ronald Jones was back in action last week for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He missed the team’s Wild Card game against Washington with a quad injury, but contributed 62 yards on 13 carries last week against the Saints. His quad was still bothering him last week, but he says now he’s feeling better, setting up a potentially frustrating backfield committee situation. But fear not, there’s an answer there for fantasy football.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bucs RB Ronald Jones, $4,600
It would be difficult for the Bucs to take the ball out of Leonard Fournette’s hands at this point. He has been their hot hand through the first two rounds of the playoffs, and he still had an edge over Jones last week, 17 carries to 13. Fournette also has a bigger role in the passing game.
None of this is to completely discourage you from using Jones in your lineup. The Packers run defense is the weakest of any team playing in the conference championships, and the Bucs will likely be leaning on the run in this one. That means there should be enough work for Jones to make him a viable fantasy option.
Fantasy Start/Sit Recommendation
There are four running backs who are more expensive in DraftKings leagues this week. Jones offers good value here. He’s worth a backend RB spot in any lineup.
